I have been working with film over the last few years and recently within my postgraduate studies, I have developed a greater understanding of the darkroom and print processing. I have developed a huge respect for artists that can work within this environment; I feel I have established a relationship with the darkroom that has had a huge impact on the way I work. The joy of creating a final print from start to finish is overwhelming.

The amount of time and effort required to produce a perfectly printed image in the darkroom cannot be fully appreciated until you have done it for yourself.
We have become accustomed to using digital photography, where you can see your images instantly, and have the ability to just delete or reshoot. When working with film there is a heightened sense of anticipation, waiting until the film is developed to see if what you have shot looks as you had hoped.
